A bold update: Porto’s Bakery is taking shape at Disneyland Resort, and construction walls have multiplied since our last look.
Porto’s Bakery Walls
Earlier this week, temporary barriers began appearing at the future Porto’s Bakery site, and since then, additional walls have gone up.
According to the concept art, a spacious two-story patio is planned. The new walls run from the edge of the current building into the esplanade beyond the ticket booths, which are slated for demolition.
The barriers are painted in bright, eye-catching colors—red, blue, yellow, green, and purple—adding a splash of vibrancy to the ongoing work.
Disney first announced Porto’s Bakery would take over the former La Brea Bakery in 2022. After several years of quiet, Disney confirmed that the Downtown Disney District location would open in 2025. While construction has just begun, it’s clear this project will extend into 2026.
Porto’s Bakery, founded by Rosa Porto and her family, began in a home kitchen and has since grown to six Southern California locations, renowned for its unique Cuban dishes and pastries.
