The first three weeks of November saw no LNG crossings at all, with the first laden transit occurring on November 23rd. The Celsius Galway, loaded at Sabine Pass in Louisiana, was sailing towards an undetermined destination in the Pacific Ocean as of December 8th. The second transit, completed by the Mitsui-chartered Marvel Swan on November 24th, was en route to Chita, Japan, with an estimated arrival date of December 17th.

The last laden transit of the month was handled by the New Fortress Energy-chartered GasLog Singapore on November 29th. This carrier had loaded volumes at New Fortress' Altamira FLNG facility in Mexico and was headed to the La Paz import terminal on the West Coast of Mexico.

In contrast, 18 out of 20 US LNG cargoes destined for Asia-Pacific markets chose the longer route around the Cape of Good Hope in November. This decision likely stems from the arbitrage advantage offered by the Panama Canal, where the cost of shipping LNG to JKM through the canal was assessed at $2.21/MMBtu on December 5th, compared to $3.21/MMBtu via the Cape of Good Hope.

The Panama Canal Authority's Long-Term Slot Allocation program, or LoTSA 2.0, allows vessels to book transit slots in advance. The first auction under this program closed on October 28th, but the winner's name remained undisclosed as of December 8th.
